Lots of great podcasts to explore and expand your mind...
About COVID-19
Deep Background - Noah Feldman on all aspects of society and COVID - my favorite is Cooking Through the Crisis with Mark Bittman
Public Health On Call - Johns Hopkins
Not about COVID-19
SPIRITUAL/BUDDHIST THEMES...
Ethan Nichtern - a lovely contemporary Buddhist teacher who has a way of making the teachings of dharma very easy and fun to understand.
Sharon Salzberg - one of my favorite teachers interviewing others with lovingkindness.
10% Happier - Dan Harris. I'm mixed. I find him a bit annoying :-) but many love it.
Be Here Now - Ram Dass. As a friend wrote "these talks from the 80,90s are all so relevant now." Agreed. This link has his page within the Be Here Now website with lots of other great teachers.
INTELLECTUAL OR MAKE YOU THINK....
The Daily - NYTimes daily podcast, thoughtful and tender
Up First - NPR's daily podcast
Robert Wright - journalist who loves getting into heady topics...
On Being - Krista Tippett's podcast - it's tagline is "What does it mean to be human? How do we want to live? And who will we be to each other?" Lovely and heartfelt.
Ezra Klein - thoughtful and smart political interviews and analysis of our time.
Sam Harris - recommended by a friend - looks heady and interesting...
On the media - thoughtful and relevant pieces about the world we live in.
Grownups are Lucky - recommended by a friend - short and entertaining fun fiction.
Code Switch - discussions about race and society.
ENTERTAINING
Dolly Parton's America - don't let the title fool you, it's the best podcast I've heard in a long time. Jad Abumrad takes us into the land of Dolly Parton, allowing even the most skeptical person to LOVE her in the end. It's amazing.
Root Of Evil - super dark but can't pull away from it. Podcast about the Black Dahlia Murders. So good.
Myths & Legends - Jason Weiser re-tells tales with an intellectual and often funny spin.
White Lies - an NPR cold case investigating the1965 death of Rev. James Reeb killed during the voting rights movement in Selma, Alabama.
